A dream cottage in Scotland - "Cockleshell Beach Isle of Barra" painting by Susanne Klimt
This island belongs to the Outer Hebridies and is famous for the only airport in the world where scheduled flights land on the beach! This beach is called Cockleshell Beach or gaelic Traigh Mhor.
In the late 18th century the sheltered waters of Castlebay housed over 600 herring boats. Till today there are fine restaurants who serve herring and other seafood. Barra is a juwel and i don`t wonder why so many tourists from all over the world travel to Barra to see the unique beaches with white sand like sugar and a landscape like paradise.
Painting by Susanne Klimt acrylic on canvas.
